Brief: Design a vintage, esoteric label for Scorpion Bitters, honoring the Schlechter family’s adventurous spirit.
Aim: Reflect the family’s legacy using illustrations of the “Parathabus Schlechteri” scorpion.
Execution: Created a vintage label inspired by 19th-century exploration. The design features intricate scorpion illustrations and old pharmacy-style typography, connecting the product to its rich history.
MAX SCHLECHTER’S SCORPION BITTERS
Brief: Create an esoteric, vintage pharmacy-style bitters label, honouring the story of explorer Ernst Schlechter and his brother, botanist Rudolf Schlechter, who discovered the scorpion “Parathabus Schlechteri” in 1867.
Aim: Design a label that reflects the adventurous spirit of the Schlechter family, using illustrations of the scorpion species and evoking a sense of discovery and nature.
Execution: Drawing inspiration from the late 19th century, we crafted a vintage, esoteric label featuring intricate illustrations of the “Parathabus Schlechteri” scorpion. The design evokes the era of exploration and the Schlechter brothers’ scientific endeavours. The label’s typography and layout mimic old pharmacy labels, adding to the authenticity and charm. Informative content about Ernst Schlechter’s journey and legacy, as well as the adventurous spirit of his descendants, connects the product to its rich history. The final design captures the essence of nature, discovery, and the enduring curiosity that defines the Schlechter family, inviting consumers to “taste nature and enjoy.”

Execution: Achieved 120,000+ impressions and 7,000+ clicks with organic content. Strategic collaborations with renowned bars led to rapid growth. Highlights included exclusive collaborations between local and international bartenders.

Brief: We managed Visual & Digital communications for the Ajabu Cocktails and Spirit Festival, covering social media, print designs, and email newsletters. Our focus was to engage influencers, spirit brands, trade professionals, entrepreneurs, event producers, and cocktail enthusiasts.
Aim: Our goal was to elevate the Ajabu Festival brand and attract attendees by showcasing unique cocktail experiences that blend African and global elements. We aimed to inspire innovation, collaboration, and creativity while celebrating Africa’s diverse ingredients and mixology talent.
Execution: We achieved exceptional performance with over 120,000 impressions and 7,000 external clicks with an organic content approach. Strategic collaborations and cross-sharing with renowned bars and restaurants involved in the festival helped create rapid growth. Highlights included exclusive one-night-only collaborations between local and international bartenders in Johannesburg and Cape Town, emphasising the festival’s unique offerings.

Brief: Design the new Cause Effect Cocktail Kitchen menu, Bar Terroir.
Aim: Compose cocktail experiences inspired by Cape Town’s landscapes—ocean, mountains, fynbos, and vineyards.
Execution: Crafted a menu structured like a gourmet dining experience, with starter, main, and dessert courses. Abstract visuals and a taste card guide patrons through an immersive cocktail adventure celebrating Cape Town’s terroir.
CAUSE EFFECT MENU DESIGN
Brief: Design Cause Effect Cocktail Kitchen’s new menu, Bar Terroir.
Aim: Cause Effect Cocktail Kitchen doesn’t just mix drinks; they compose experiences. Drawing inspiration from the diverse landscapes of Cape Town, their drinks pay homage to the unique BAR TERROIR of the city. From the ocean’s depths to the mountain peaks, the essence of fynbos, and the soul of the vineyards, their cocktails encapsulate the climate, soil, and heartbeat of the region.
Execution: We crafted a menu that mirrors a gourmet dining experience, structuring the cocktails into ‘starter, main, and dessert’ courses. Each section is designed to tantalise taste buds and evoke profound feelings. To enhance this sensory journey, we created a taste card and abstract visuals that evoke the same emotions as the cocktails themselves. These elements reflect the essence of Cape Town’s landscapes and terroir, guiding patrons through an immersive cocktail adventure that celebrates the rich, varied terroir that inspires each drink.

Brief: Showcase Cape Floral Kingdom for Malachite Fynbos Gin.
Aim: Move from traditional shots to a captivating, abstract fynbos landscape, highlighting the flora’s unique details.
Execution: Created an Instagram page with vivid, abstract imagery, featuring Cape Fynbos in an alien/modernistic style. Included informative content, cocktail recipes, and garnish ideas to enhance the sensory experience of Malachite Fynbos Gin.

Brief: Showcasing the Cape Floral Kingdom in a new and exciting way for the Gin brand Malachite Fynbos Gin.
Aim: Move away from traditional product shots to a captivating, abstract fynbos landscape, highlighting the geometric and extraterrestrial details of the flora in a new light.
Execution: By tapping into the allure of the enchanting fynbos world, we created an Instagram page that felt unusually beautiful. The strategy featured vivid, abstract imagery, showcasing the Cape Fynbos beauty in an alien/modernistic style. This approach allowed for easy and cost-effective visual differentiation. Paired with informative content about the region, cocktail recipes, and garnish ideas, the campaign aimed to awaken the senses to a timeless world of nature through the spirit of Malachite Fynbos Gin.

Impact: Boosted brand visibility, generated social media buzz, and provided a memorable experience that resonated with attendees.

Brief: focusing on community engagement for their female audience in South Africa.
Aim: a Ladies Month campaign in May 2021 foster community, drive engagement, and increase brand loyalty among female customers.
Execution: The campaign aimed to create a space for women to connect, share tips, and support each other, enhancing long-term customer loyalty and engagement. By collaborating with South -African Female owned businesses, a larger shared platform was created with brands to create a campaign featuring advice, life hacks, feminine hygiene insights, Mother’s Day gift ideas, and live talks from inspiring women. This resulted in a 400%+ increase in engagement, with women actively participating and sharing their experiences. Furthermore, reach increased increased by 700% and Follower base grew by 7%
